In other news, and in true Mongol Rally style, Iran has thrown another curveball at us in changing their visa requirements just a week ago. As of now, all teams require a guide while they’re in the country, and as a result we’ve had to make some big changes to the start of our itinerary to set a world record pace across Turkey and reach Iran before the religious holiday of Eid ul Fitr starts on the 29th July. The bad news - no more Vama Veche beach party or spending the night in Istanbul, the good news - we’ll now have extra time in Iran where the adventure really starts, are now travelling in a convoy with some other awesome teams, save money on the Carnet de Passage by acquiring it at the border and make our own Black Sea beach party on the stunning Bulgarian coast!
A special shout out to Matt S and Leanne M for hooking us up with a guide to share and Mongol Rally convoy through Iran, we’re looking forward to joining forces!
